Shipping Companies

Post by florida4x4 » Wed Jan 26, 2005 2:47 pm

I am just FedUP with UPS. Over the past 10 years I have send hundreds of packages through them and they are the most destructive shippers by far. Out of all the shipments I have had (3) claims that were legitamite problems caused by their handling of the package. In each case they have managed to squirrel out of the responsibility of paying for repairs. Why do I have to buy their insurance if they will not cover damages?

I'm calling for an all out boycott of UPS. That is all.

FEDEX is all I ever use. Seem to be quicker and have yet to destroy anything I have sent or received. May be a little more but sometimes you do really get what you pay for.

Another vote for FedEX. Their drivers seem to be taken better care of and the boxes dont look like they were dropped from a second floor window. The one and only claim I had with them was taken care of without issue.

I personally know of an instance where FEDEX replaced almost $10,000 in home audio amps within 2 weeks. All they needed was a claim form filled out with a certified value from the store that was having them delivered. Its nice when a company stands buy there guys and replaces what they brake.

Two thumbs up, Andrew!! You didn't have to do that

For those that don't know, we traded carrier units a few weeks ago, and UPS really f*cked up the box sent to me, and one of the bearings was busted all to hell, it was even sticking out of a tear in the side of the box. When UPS rejected the claim, Andrew split the cost of the bearing with me!

BTW, I'm with you, I won't ever use UPS again. On top of lack of claims service, everytime I've gotten quotes from other companies (or USPS), UPS has always been most expensive

I also hate UPS. They never take responsibilty for anything. Over Christmas we discovered that Fedex it actually cheaper alot of times and the packages always get there faster than with UPS.

Me to........UPS sucks. We have alot of very expensive claims that are way over due.....they screw up or lose or brake every package that I ship. I us FEDEX alot now to ship out but still.....even they screw something up every so often.
