what about dissimilar metals causing galvanic corrosion?

not really a problem if you use the never seize. it actually contains powdered alum, copper and graphite in a petroleum base (Silver Seize), so it eliminates corrosion. there's other colors of it for diff applications....

never replace a water pump on an outboard without using it on the stainless bolts!!! number one reason the bolts break off....

i use locke tite brand, get it at Fastenall for about $15 for a lifetime supply.

I agree Pete! When taking out those stuck bolts with the aluminum corrosion on the threads always loosen then tighten a little bit so they have less of a chance of breaking.
